Tineco portable spot cleaners

Tineco GO Spot or CARPET ONE SPOT?

Tineco's GO Spot, CARPET ONE SPOT and SPOT Essentials all target localized carpet and upholstery cleaning, but the name overlap hides a meaningful power difference. GO Spot is a corded portable; the other two are cordless battery-powered machines with their own mode and charging details. Start with where you will use it, then compare the tank threshold, care routine and exact package rather than assuming these cleaners are interchangeable.

GO Spot: corded and straightforward

The U.S. GO SPOT Series manual is shared across iCARPET SPOT and GO SPOT; it lists 120 V, 2.8 A, a 0.8 L clean-water tank and a 0.6 L recovery tank. Its clean tank is about 27.05 U.S. fluid ounces. It is the most direct fit of these three when an outlet is close and a 27-ounce minimum is enough. Tineco's instructions show a manual spray trigger and a removable brush that the owner rinses and dries. The machine does not become a room washer simply because it can reach carpet: it is a portable hand-tool extractor without a push-style upright floor head.

The direct GO Spot product route on Tineco's store currently redirects, so an old listing or illustration should not be treated as proof of every seller's current box. The exact U.S. model number is SC051000US. Search by that code, confirm the rating label and verify accessories in the current offer. Its manual says accessory sets can differ by market.

CARPET ONE SPOT: cordless reach, but conflicting product figures

The regular CARPET ONE SPOT is a different product, model CL2138-01. Its separate U.S. manual describes battery-powered portable cleaning, a motorized brush and Spot, Auto and Suction modes; Tineco also documents Wi-Fi/app support. That arrangement may suit a buyer who values carrying the cleaner away from an outlet or wants those documented controls. But several exact figures conflict between the product page and manual, including its clean-tank figure, battery capacity, runtime and noise. The fact record leaves disputed hard-match values unknown. Do not choose regular Spot because a particular tank size or runtime is essential until Tineco reconciles the exact model evidence.

SPOT Essentials: cordless without the app requirement

SPOT Essentials has its own model code, CL2138A-01, and its own manual. It is also a portable cordless extractor, but Tineco's support material distinguishes it from the app-connected regular Spot by not offering Wi-Fi. The Essentials manual and FAQ agree on a 1.6 L clean tank, about 54.1 U.S. fluid ounces; that satisfies a 54-ounce minimum but not 55. Its manual documents a self-cleaning brush box, but charging directions are less consistent about whether a separate base belongs in the exact carton. Check charger and box contents before making storage assumptions.

How your answers change the shortlist

If a grounded outlet is not available, GO Spot is out because its manual instructs you to plug in the cord. A requirement for cordless use leaves the two CARPET ONE models, while an app requirement points toward regular Spot rather than Essentials. If your clean-tank minimum is 28 ounces, the GO Spot's published 0.8 L figure is below the threshold; at 27 ounces it qualifies. A 54-ounce minimum supports Essentials from its agreeing manual and FAQ values, but the conflicting regular-Spot figure should not be used to force a match. Requiring a whole-room push head rejects all three; requiring a self-cleaning box rejects GO Spot but may fit a spot model whose exact package confirms it.

Surface labels and maintenance still decide

All three are wet extractors, so match the fabric's care code before comparing convenience. The relevant Tineco instructions permit W or S/W upholstery, not S-only fabric, and call for a hidden colorfastness test. Their manuals warn about delicate, natural-fiber, looped or untagged rugs and recommend caution to avoid fuzzing or overwetting. After a job, expect tank emptying, rinsing and drying even when an automatic brush-box cycle is included. A self-cleaning box does not remove dirty-water handling or textile-care decisions.

These models serve different versions of the same small-job need: GO Spot is corded with a smaller documented fill, while the CARPET ONE SPOT products add cordless use and package-specific controls. Compare exact codes—SC051000US, CL2138-01 and CL2138A-01—and current manuals before buying. If your primary task is room-wide carpet washing, step up to a true upright instead of trying to solve that job with a hand-tool spot extractor.

Put the cleaning task and package together.
