The Hoover AllOut Lux FH58000 is an upright carpet washer for someone who also needs an included hose for stairs and upholstery. Automatic wash/dry movement, a separate StainShot system and a debris trap give it a different routine from a small portable extractor. Its appeal is the complete cleaning arrangement, rather than an unqualified promise to remove every stain.

Room cleaning and above-floor work in one package

The current US page identifies FH58000 and explicitly describes an integrated hose. Its included equipment lists a 4 inch all-purpose tool, AllOut Pet Tool, AllOut SpinScrub Tool and storage tray. That makes the Lux materially different from the AllOut Plus FH57000, whose reviewed package does not establish the same hose capability. Check the exact suffix and supplied tools when comparing retail offers.

A hose makes stairs or a sofa a supported direction to investigate, but fabric suitability still comes first. Inspect the furniture care label and follow the manufacturer's surface and colorfastness instructions. A general upholstery claim is not approval for every fabric, backing, cushion filling or decorative trim.

Automatic movement changes how you work

AllOut Lux is documented to wash while moving forward and extract while moving backward. This can reduce the need to coordinate a separate wash trigger during ordinary floor passes. It does not automate moving furniture, vacuuming loose debris beforehand, filling tanks or deciding when an area has received enough moisture.

The page also confirms a dry-only mode that extracts on both forward and backward movement. That is a useful distinction for someone who wants additional extraction passes without adding more liquid. Dry-only means extraction, not a guarantee that the carpet is immediately dry or safe to cover. Airflow, material and how much moisture was applied still affect the waiting period.

StainShot is a solution routine, not a universal result

The separate StainShot tank supplies a concentrated boost for difficult spots. The product's comparative stain and odor claim is tied to named Hoover formulas and specific test methods. We do not turn that conditional claim into a score against every other cleaner or a promise that an old stain will disappear.

Before buying, consider whether you will keep the additional compatible solution on hand and follow its directions. Mixing household chemicals or improvising a formula concentration is not a substitute for the specified routine. A more elaborate tank system can be useful when its targeted treatment fits the jobs you actually face.

Debris handling still leaves cleanup work

VacTrap is described as capturing hair and debris before it interferes with the machine. That is relevant in a home where loose hair reaches the recovery path. It does not make the cleaner a replacement for routine dry vacuuming or remove the need to empty and clean the recovery system. A trap is another place to inspect after a dirty job.

Plan somewhere to empty, rinse and dry the parts according to the instructions. A storage tray is convenient for organizing the machine, but storing it wet and full of recovered soil would defeat the purpose. The reviewed page does not establish every body dimension or tank capacity, so those remain unconfirmed for precise space or capacity requirements.

Where the Lux makes sense

Choose it for regular room-scale carpet washing with a documented included-hose route for furniture and stairs. Compare the AllOut Plus if your needs are confined to floor washing. Compare SmartWash+ if its established automatic routine and included hose meet the job without making StainShot essential. Compare a CleanSlate portable when scattered small stains dominate and pushing an upright around a room would be unnecessary work.

We have not tested extraction, drying speed, stain removal or reliability. The manufacturer's “deepest” and “fastest” language describes its specified comparison, not our independent ranking. FH58000 belongs on a shortlist when its actual equipment and workflow fit the household.
