The main tradeoff

It remains a hand-tool cleaner; water adds to its 11 lb listed dry weight.

The Hoover CleanSlate XL FH15000V is a portable extractor for someone whose spot-cleaning jobs are big enough to make small tanks frustrating. Its current 96 ounce clean-water specification, 22 foot cord and 5 foot hose are concrete differences from CleanSlate Pet. It remains a hand-tool cleaner, with a larger refill routine rather than an upright floor head.

A larger portable session

The current US technical table gives 96 ounces of clean-water capacity and an 11 lb product weight. That can suit a series of furniture or stair stains where frequent refilling interrupts the job. The stated weight is for the machine; a full clean tank and collected waste increase the load you carry. Decide whether you will fill near the work area or move it full.

The dirty-tank capacity is not separately established by a reliable current numeric field in this assessment. Some description language refers broadly to XL tanks. We do not convert that into a promise that both tanks accept 96 ounces. Follow the recovery tank's actual fill indication and empty it when required.

The supplied tools shape its usefulness

The package lists a 7 inch WidePath tool, Pet Tool, Tight Spot tool, hose-rinse tool and trial portable cleaning solution. That gives you a documented broad-area hand tool and tools for more localized access. It does not establish that any compatible powered accessory pictured elsewhere is included.

Use the tool and solution permitted for the material. An upholstery cleaning claim does not override a furniture care label. Narrow crevices, cushion seams and delicate trim may need a different approach from a flat carpet patch. Plan a suitable inconspicuous check as directed before wetting the visible area.

Longer reach has practical limits

The manufacturer lists a 22 foot cord and 5 foot hose. Compared with FH14000V's current 15 foot cord and 4.5 foot hose, that can help reach different outlets or work farther from the base. It is an equipment difference worth checking if you routinely clean a vehicle near a particular power source.

Measure the real route, including bends and the stable place where the machine will sit. Do not place a heavy filled base on a narrow ledge merely because promotional copy mentions stairs. The hose should reach from a position permitted by the instructions, with enough room to move the tool normally.

Cleanup should influence the purchase

The built-in rinse arrangement addresses the hose after dirty water has passed through it. It can make a necessary task more convenient, but it does not replace cleaning the tank and tool. Empty collected liquid, clear debris and dry the appropriate parts before storage according to the manual.

A wider hand tool can accumulate hair and soil along its recovery opening. Access and rinsing matter alongside nominal cleaning width. The reviewed specification confirms removable elements, while we make no claim about how long cleanup takes in practice. A larger job also produces more dirty water to handle.

XL does not mean whole-room upright

If your main task is wall-to-wall carpet, a push-style upright is a different and often more relevant category to investigate. CleanSlate XL still requires you to position and move a hand tool across the work. Its extra capacity makes it a larger portable, not an automatic room-cleaning system.

Consider it for longer portable sessions, the documented included tool set and reach. Compare the smaller CleanSlate Pet for shorter jobs, Spotless Mini for a smaller clean-tank routine, or SmartWash Pet XL for room washing with a hose option. We have not tested cleaning results, extraction or drying. No formula or machine can guarantee reversal of every stain.
