Explore this need in the finder →The Hoover SmartWash Pet XL FH62000 is an upright for larger carpet-washing sessions with a documented hose route to stairs and upholstery. Its self-cleaning tray, Spot Boost mode and included tools distinguish it from the ordinary SmartWash+. The tradeoff is a full-size machine and a wet-cleaning cleanup routine, even when washing controls are automatic.
A room-cleaning machine with a separate hose task
The current US package lists an 8 foot hose, gentle upholstery tool, 7 inch 2-in-1 stair tool, maximum-extraction tool, storage bag and nozzle cleanout tool. Those are concrete reasons to investigate FH62000 for a house with carpeted rooms and fabric furniture. The different tools serve different tasks; a wider stair tool is not automatically the right choice for every cushion or narrow edge.
Check furniture and rug care instructions before using water or a particular formula. A machine's upholstery capability does not establish compatibility with every fabric. Arrange the upright securely as its manual directs when using the hose, rather than putting a heavy filled machine where it could fall while you reach a stair.
Automatic movement, with a targeted mode
SmartWash automatic technology applies solution on forward movement and extracts on the backward pass. That simplifies the ordinary floor sequence, while leaving preparation, tank handling and surface decisions to you. The fingertip controls and LED indication help identify modes. Learn those controls before treating the cleaner like a dry vacuum.
Spot Boost is documented for harder spots and stains. The manufacturer's comparative cleaning and drying claims depend on specified formulas, test methods and a named comparison product. We do not convert them into a universal performance lead or a guarantee that every pet stain and odor will disappear.
Tank size is meaningful here
The current table specifies a 1 gallon clean-water capacity and 0.7 gallon dirty-water capacity. In US fluid ounces, those are 128 and 89.6 ounces respectively. They are separate limits, not a single volume you can keep using until both tanks are empty. Follow the dirty-tank fill indication and the actual instructions throughout the job.
A larger clean-water tank can reduce refilling during a room session, but a filled machine is heavier and recovered liquid must still be emptied. Compare this with a portable's smaller, hand-tool-based routine before deciding which is convenient. Large tanks are useful when the work calls for them, not merely because they top a chart.
The cleaning tray changes maintenance access
The included self-cleaning tray flushes hair and debris through a specified cleanup routine and provides a storage position. It can make a recurring ownership task easier to organize. It does not eliminate emptying recovered waste, inspecting the machine or drying parts as directed. A tray's presence is not evidence of a maintenance-free system.
Removable brushes and water/solution tanks are also confirmed. Think about the whole after-cleaning sequence, including space at a sink and a place where appropriate parts can dry. Putting the machine in a closet immediately after a muddy job is not the same as completing its care routine.
Do not confuse the bundle SKU with a new washer
Hoover also lists a SmartWash Pet XL plus OXY Pet bundle under package SKU FH62000VBNDL. Its U.S. page repeats the FH62000 machine features and measurements, including the 1.0/0.7-gallon tanks, 22-foot cord, 22.24-pound weight and 8-foot hose; it does not document a different wash mode or tank configuration. That makes this useful to compare as a carton/consumables variant of the FH62000 assessment, not as evidence of a new appliance capability. The listing says it includes two trial-size solutions and an OXY Pet Solution marked 50 oz. The manufacturer’s bundle composite, however, depicts a purple bottle labeled “Enzymatic Odor Removal” and 64 fl oz. Hoover’s separate 50-ounce Oxy Pet page identifies SKU AH31955, while Hoover’s official safety-and-ingredient index groups AH31955, AH31992 and AH31938 beneath a heading naming multiple sizes. I cannot confidently connect the illustrated 64-ounce container to the bundle’s 50-ounce line or resolve that SKU-to-size crosswalk from these sources. If exact solution quantity matters, check the sealed bottle and carton label rather than relying on the bundle artwork; choose the washer for its verified floor-and-hose plan, not for an assumed liquid size.
Handling and shortlist position
Hoover lists 22.24 lb machine weight and a 22 foot cord. The former is a dry machine reference; water and recovered soil add to what you handle. The cord and 8 foot hose help plan outlet placement and above-floor reach, but corners, furniture and safe positioning consume practical reach.
Choose FH62000 when regular room cleaning, the documented larger tanks and the tray are useful together. SmartWash+ offers a different package if a conventional automatic routine is enough. CleanSlate XL addresses portable stain work with a 96 ounce clean tank, while AllOut Lux has a separate StainShot arrangement. We have not tested cleaning, drying or long-term reliability.
