A useful fit for

Planned compatible carpet sessions where a large premixed batch and backward-stroke routine fit the room and operator.

The main tradeoff

Upholstery tool is sold separately in both standard offers, including Pet Pack. Exact current dry weight, cord and cleaning-path measurements remain unconfirmed.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does either 90010 or Pet Pack90011 include upholstery capability?

Both current pages sell the upholstery tool separately. Pet Pack substitutes the formula bottle; it does not add that tool.

Can the large batch coexist with automatic movement-controlled washing?

No. Solution is premixed externally and the operator holds the spray control on backward wash passes.

The Rug Doctor Mighty Pro X3 suits a planned room-carpet cleaning session when a large solution batch is more useful than a compact, ready-to-grab stain tool. Its three-gallon lower tank and vibrating brush support that role. The important ownership differences are the backward cleaning stroke, manual solution preparation and a separately purchased upholstery attachment. The Pet Pack does not turn the standard floor machine into a supplied furniture-cleaning package.

90010 and 90011 share the machine assessment

The current 90010 offer includes the Mighty Pro X3 and a 48-ounce bottle of Professional Oxy Carpet Cleaner. The 90011 Pet Pack includes the same named Mighty Pro X3 with a 48-ounce bottle of Pet Deep Cleaning Solution. Both official pages describe the same spray, vibrating-brush and extraction arrangement, and both link the same operating guide.

The documented difference is the included cleaning solution. Neither page establishes a different tank, brush mechanism or supplied upholstery tool for the Pet Pack. This assessment covers both configurations explicitly; choose the actual formula package that suits the permitted job and follow the label. Do not treat the pet-oriented name as proof of an extra hair attachment or a different cleaning mode.

It cleans while being pulled backward

For carpet washing, the guide instructs the user to hold the spray button and pull the machine slowly backward in a straight line. Near the end of the stroke, release the button to stop solution application. Tilt the machine and push it forward to begin another backward pass. Plan the room so there is space to move this way and keep the cord out of the route.

This differs from an upright that automatically washes during forward travel and extracts during backward travel. The Mighty Pro's button controls application; forward repositioning is not a second powered washing direction. Keep the machine moving while spraying so the vibrating brush does not work one spot continuously. A large tank does not justify repeated wet passes over a stain.

A large batch needs deliberate preparation

The linked guide identifies a three-US-gallon lower solution tank, equivalent to 384 US fluid ounces. Formula and permitted hot tap water are mixed in a separate clean bucket, then poured through the fill screen to the indicated level. Follow the solution label and current instructions for the actual product. Do not interpret the included 48-ounce formula bottle as the tank's capacity or as a requirement to pour the whole bottle into one fill.

More available solution can reduce refill interruptions during a larger job, but a full machine contains additional liquid weight. The exact current dry weight, cord length and cleaning-path width are not established by these two pages and the linked guide. Obtain those measurements before choosing it around a strict lifting, reach or storage limit. The fold-down handle reduces the upright handle position; it does not make the lower body disappear.

Upholstery requires another purchase

Both current offers explicitly say the upholstery tool is sold separately. The guide's furniture-cleaning instructions describe connecting separate vacuum and solution hoses and selecting Tool mode. Those instructions show what compatible additional equipment can do; they do not put that equipment in either standard carton.

If you want carpet and furniture capability supplied together, compare the BISSELL Big Green 86T3, whose documented package includes a nine-foot hose and six-inch tool. If compact stairs or sofa jobs dominate, a portable such as Shark StainStriker HairPro PX251 may avoid moving a room-sized machine for every small spill. Check the permitted material and exact tool in either case.

Check the carpet before filling

The guide limits wet passes to avoid overwetting, with stricter directions for Berber, multilevel and looped carpet. Its safety section excludes natural-fiber, wool, silk, sisal, jute and certain hand-crafted rugs. Later wording about cool water does not cancel those earlier exclusions. Follow the stricter material boundary and the carpet manufacturer's care directions; seek a suitable professional method for excluded rugs.

This is not a dry vacuum or a machine for flood recovery. Dry-vacuum the carpet first using separate equipment. The guide also says it has no automatic overflow shutoff, so recovery-tank and foam monitoring remain part of the job. Keep the machine and overspray away from hardwood and laminate, and use the prescribed grounded electrical supply.

Allow time for cleanup and drying

After the session, empty the tanks and drain the remaining solution as instructed. Unplug before removing brush debris or inspecting the vacuum slot and filters. The clear dome and fill screens need care too; a fold-down handle is a storage feature, not an automatic cleaning tray. Allow the cleaned carpet to dry before returning ordinary use or furniture to the area.

Choose the Mighty Pro X3 when its large premixed batch and backward-stroke routine fit a planned, compatible carpet job. Choose 90011 for its documented pet-solution substitution, not for an assumed extra tool. For automatic forward-wash/back-extract control, compare Hoover SmartWash+. For a ready-supplied hose package, compare Big Green before adding the optional Rug Doctor attachment separately.
