Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the exact earlier upright package clean carpet rooms and suitable upholstery in separate setups?
Yes. The US manual names the floor head, 2.5m hose and 2-in-1 nozzle; the separate ACCESSORY mode requires the body upright. Use only fabrics with W or S/W care codes and test colorfastness.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the manual-sized clean tank and hose meet a 67-ounce minimum and an 8-foot reach requirement?
The manual specifies 2L (about 67.63 US fluid ounces) and a 2.5m hose (about 8.20 feet), so 67 and 8 feet fit, but 68 ounces or 8.3 feet do not. Tineco FAQ values conflict; this uses the model manual.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its floor routine include motion-controlled spray and a separate dryness-indicator mode, without requiring powered movement help?
Yes. AUTO/MAX spray on forward movement and stop on the backward stroke; DRY shows humidity-sensor feedback. It is a conventional corded upright, not a powered push-pull machine, and the display does not guarantee a fixed dry time.
Explore this need in the finder →Tineco’s CARPET ONE is an earlier, corded upright carpet washer with sensor-guided floor washing, a separate drying mode and a supplied hose-and-nozzle route for suitable upholstery. It is worth considering only when the exact older model and seller carton are clear. The newer CARPET ONE Cruiser adds powered movement assistance and a brush-cleaning tray; those are not CARPET ONE features.
Check the model before comparing a seller offer
Tineco’s US pages still document CARPET ONE, and the US instruction manual identifies model CL2043-01 and CL2043-02 together. The product-specific manual and support materials explain a useful carpet-and-upholstery arrangement, but Tineco’s present carpet-cleaner store collection is built around the Cruiser generation. Its old CARPET ONE store address now resolves to the Cruiser page. Treat this as an earlier-model assessment, not proof that a current new unit is available. If you are considering a listing, check the label, condition, seller return policy and included accessories against the exact code. Do not assume a current Cruiser carton is the same cleaner.
Sensor-guided washing is different from a conventional trigger routine
The manual describes three floor modes. In AUTO, iLoop senses the carpet’s dirt level and adjusts spray volume. MAX holds spray at its maximum while the display continues to show the dirt indication. DRY is a separate suction-and-air pass: its indicator responds to the humidity sensor. In AUTO and MAX, the machine sprays as it travels forward and stops dispensing on the backward stroke. That can make the main-room pattern easier to remember than holding a trigger on every pass, but it is not an automatic guarantee that a carpet is clean or dry.
Tineco describes this generation as a smart carpet washer rather than a conventional dry vacuum. Clear loose debris first; it is not intended to collect larger dry items such as food pieces. Work along the carpet, keep the head moving, and use the manufacturer’s care label and test patch before washing rugs. The manual warns that some Berber, natural-fiber and soft-fiber carpets can fuzz or be overwet. It advises care at rug edges and does not recommend deep cleaning delicate, silk, wool or antique rugs without the maker’s approval. Do not use it where dry cleaning is specified.
A hose extends the job, but the body is not portable
The manual identifies an accessory hose of 2.5 meters and a 2-in-1 nozzle. That gives the upright a separate hand-tool mode for suitable furniture, stairs and localized marks; it does not turn the complete machine into a compact spot cleaner. To connect the hose, unplug first, stand the machine upright and use the accessory mode. The tool’s button controls spray. The body must remain upright for this route, and the manual says to let upholstery dry before repeating an additional treatment.
Use the hose only when the upholstery care code permits wet cleaning: Tineco’s guide names W or S/W fabrics and says not to wet-clean S-only material. Test colorfastness in a hidden area. The short hose also means a full upright still has to be parked securely near stairs or furniture; it is a less convenient choice if most of your work is car seats, stair treads or small spills.
Use the manual’s limits, not the most generous number on a support page
The US manual specifies a 2-liter clean-water tank and a 1.5-liter recovery tank. It says to measure two caps of the designated Tineco solution into a full clean-water tank and use water below 140°F/60°C. It also warns not to use hot fill water. Tineco’s product-specific support FAQ elsewhere lists a 1.7-liter dirty-water capacity and a three-meter hose, which conflict with the exact manual. This assessment follows the manual’s 1.5-liter and 2.5-meter figures; if a precise tank or reach threshold matters, confirm the markings and instructions for the seller’s exact unit rather than treating either disputed figure as settled.
The official page advertises heated washing, and the manual describes warm airflow, but neither makes this a steam cleaner. The manual’s fill-water limit still applies. It also does not document a self-cleaning tray: after use, you must empty and rinse the recovery tank, filter, brush cover, roller, hose and nozzle, then allow removable parts to dry. Tineco says the brush roller needs cleaning after each use. A humidity meter can help guide an extra dry pass; its reading is not a fixed drying-time promise.
Who should choose this generation?
CARPET ONE fits someone who wants a corded room washer, sensor-adjusted spray and a supplied upholstery route, and who is comparing a specific earlier offer rather than expecting Cruiser hardware. Tineco lists a 6.5-meter power cord in the support page, while the product page states 22 pounds without clarifying the weighing configuration; treat that weight as a published figure, not a confirmed dry carrying weight.
Compare CARPET ONE PRO if its animated on-screen guidance and separately documented package of two solution bottles and an extra roller matter; the core floor and hose routines are very similar. Choose the current-reference CARPET ONE Cruiser instead when powered push-and-pull assistance and an included brush-cleaning tray are important. For a shopper whose everyday jobs are mostly upholstery spots, a portable model may be easier to store and lift. Whichever route you take, match the seller’s exact model and tools to the work and material rather than buying on the CARPET ONE name alone.
