Floor and furniture jobs
Compact carpet washer or upholstery package?
A compact carpet washer makes sense when the task is on the floor. A compact portable extractor makes sense when you need to bring a small tool to the mess. Start with that distinction before comparing tanks, drying features or the word “Pet.”
For a patch of carpet, keep the floor route simple
The Hoover PowerDash FH50700V and Pet+ FH50704 are push-style floor washers. Their documented routine uses manually premixed solution, trigger-held forward/backward wet passes and trigger-released recovery passes. They suit a buyer who wants to clean a manageable section while standing behind a floor head.
Do not assume that compact means a suitable stair setup. The instructions prohibit placing these cleaners on stairs or furniture. Nor does Advanced wording copied into another model's page establish an included hose. Read the exact carton and manual for the model you will actually receive.
For a sofa, select the tool and permitted material first
The Hoover CleanSlate Pet provides a portable hand-tool route for suitable upholstery. It makes more sense for a chair or isolated fabric mark than maneuvering a floor-cleaning head toward the target. Its portability does not give you the wide push head needed to wash a room efficiently.
If the same purchase must handle both jobs, compare the PowerScrub Deluxe, whose supplied floor and hand-tool package supports separate sessions. That is a different ownership choice: more equipment to store, with a route for each task. The smaller floor-only machine cannot acquire that capability from a general family photograph.
Decide which part of the routine you want to change
A SmartWash+ is relevant when controlling the spray trigger is the main annoyance. It changes the wash/recovery routine as travel direction changes. That is distinct from choosing a portable tool, increasing tank capacity or reducing carrying effort.
Drying-air assistance also differs from heating extraction water or producing steam. Check the documented mechanism rather than a retailer's “heated” filter. Whatever the feature name, moisture recovery and ventilation still matter, and the carpet must be dry before people or pets return.
Finish the shortlist with the practical limits: a verified nominal clean-tank volume, actual empty carrying weight and a place to rinse and dry the wet parts. When those measurements are missing or conflicting, leave them unknown and check the exact seller configuration. A small-looking machine is not a measured lifting promise.
