Steam, heated drying and fabric permissions
A heated drying feature, a hot-water filling instruction and a steam-generating mode are different things. Check the actual mode, supplied tool and permitted material together.
Steam-capable does not mean every mode steams
The HydroSteam 3618 manual distinguishes SteamWash, Steam and Wash. SteamWash combines spray and steam for its permitted carpet and upholstery tasks. Steam supports specified tools and suitable upholstery or tile/grout. Wash uses spray for the stated carpet and area-rug tasks.
You cannot borrow Steam's tile permission and SteamWash's formula spray to invent a combined hard-surface mode. The finder requires selected conditions to coexist in one documented arrangement. Shared manuals also list tools that vary by model; only the actual supplied 3618 tools count for its package.
Read the furniture label first
The HydroSteam manual directs users to check the upholstery manufacturer's tag, including its permitted W/WS references and exclusions for specified solvent-only or dry-clean-only material. If a tag is missing or unclear, obtain clarification before proceeding. General product copy does not override the material instructions.
The same principle matters for ordinary water extraction. Furniture filling, dyes, backing and trim can be affected by a wet routine. A brief patch check is part of the manufacturer's process, not a guarantee that every hidden component is suitable.
Drying claims have a specific setting
BISSELL's upholstery drying statement is tied to Steam mode on new polyester. It should not be applied to every SteamWash cushion or to a washed carpeted room. HeatForce on a Hoover washer describes drying assistance, without establishing a steam-cleaning mode.
We make no disinfection, sterilization or medical claims. Choose a supported cleaning method for an approved material, then follow its startup, priming and extraction directions. Leave steam flexible in the finder when ordinary spray-and-extract work is all you need.
