A useful fit for

Useful for ordinary room and compatible furniture washing without steam or large-tank carrying weight.

The main tradeoff

Floor washing is trigger controlled; the brush keeps turning during hose use, so placement instructions matter.

The TurboClean Pet XL 3746 is a conventional upright washer with a useful middle-sized specification: a ten-inch cleaning path, one-gallon clean tank and seventeen-pound published dry weight. It suits someone who needs a push-style carpet head plus supplied hand tools, without choosing a much heavier large-tank machine.

A wider route than the compact TurboClean models

The ten-inch floor path is a meaningful distinction from the 7.5-inch path listed for the smaller TurboClean Pet 3948. More width can reduce the number of adjacent lanes across open carpet. It also needs room to maneuver around furniture legs and corners, so measure the difficult parts of the cleaning route as well as the open area.

The 3746 has a four-row powered brush system. The usual cleaning method still requires controlled trigger use and deliberate extraction passes. It is not a system that decides when to wash and extract solely from forward and backward movement. If automatic floor operation is essential, compare a documented Hoover SmartWash arrangement instead.

A one-gallon batch is useful, not mandatory for every spot

The exact US page lists one gallon for both clean and dirty nominal tank capacities. The clean volume equals 128 US fluid ounces. Follow the guide's fill markings and formula proportions rather than treating the published capacity as a mixing recipe. Monitor recovery separately, particularly when a spill contributes liquid or the mixture produces foam.

For room cleaning, plan where you will refill and dispose of recovered water. The seventeen-pound figure is the dry machine, before adding solution and collected waste. A tank specification that reduces trips during cleaning can also make those trips heavier. Consider the complete route to the sink and storage cupboard, especially when the carpet is upstairs.

The included tools extend it beyond the floor

The 3746 box list includes a three-inch Tough Stain Tool and Spraying Crevice Tool, with a mesh storage bag. Those attachments provide useful options for compatible furniture, stair carpet and narrow soft-surface areas. The smaller stain tool covers less width per pass than a six-inch tool, but can be easier to position on a small seat or stair section.

The pet name does not establish a separately named pet-hair collection attachment. If that exact equipment is essential, compare the supplied carton contents with a Pet Pro Plus package. Trial pet formula and a dedicated pet tool are different purchase features. Check the model code rather than transferring a nearby TurboClean model's tools to this one.

Reach depends on safe machine placement

BISSELL lists a seven-foot hose and twenty-foot cord. The hose can let you work on a sofa or stairs while the body stays on a stable level floor or landing. Place it before filling and starting, with enough slack that reaching the far section will not pull the machine toward you. Move the body deliberately when you need a new position.

The guide warns that the brush continues turning during hose use. Keep the machine on a suitable level surface and follow the placement restrictions; do not tip it, set it on furniture or balance it on carpeted stairs while using an attachment. The ability to clean stairs with a hose is different from permission to park the powered floor head on a narrow tread.

Plan the cleanup and drying stage

Vacuum loose debris before washing, use the intended upright formula and check the material's care instructions. After cleaning, empty and rinse the recovery assembly, clear the nozzle and brush area as directed and allow components to dry before storage. A hose attachment does not automatically mean a dedicated hose-rinse tool or self-cleaning tray is supplied.

Choose the 3746 for its one-gallon batch, ten-inch path and practical stain-and-crevice tool set. Choose the smaller 3948 if its narrower body and different carrying requirements fit better. Choose the Big Green 86T3 when substantially larger solution capacity and a longer hose justify a much heavier machine. The Pet XL is most persuasive when ordinary carpet and compatible upholstery extraction cover the work without requiring steam or automatic floor washing.
